Love
and Respect asa Source of Inspiration
By Lewis Harrison
In a world of complexity, multiple priorities and confusion,
it is often difficult to know what one needs to have.
Many people are conceived to be highly successful and
yet they are unhappy and they struggle at a job that
is not satisfying to them and in relationships that
do not meet their basic emotional needs. The one defining
factor that each of us can use to create joy and, abundance
in our lives is recognizing that we deserve love and
respect. Love and respect can manifest in many forms
but on a basic level it means communicating our needs,
doing things which are physically and emotionally healthy
such as exercising regularly, eating well, meditating,
getting enough sleep and surrounding ourselves with
people who are kind, loving, nurturing and supportive.
We must take care of our spiritual needs, whatever they
may be. Whether they are prayer, attending religious
services, reading spiritual literature or gathering
in community with people who have similar spiritual
interests.
Once you have a commitment to creating love and respect
in your life, then all of the things that come to one
who has made such a commitment begin to manifest spontaneously.
More and more, your life is filled with miracles.
Your
ability to receive love is determined by what you believe
you deserve to receive. As you go through your normal
day there are literally millions of sights and sounds
that pass by you but of which you are unaware. Very
often we are only able to take in that which we recognize
or which catches our attention. If your attention is
not focused on having love in your life, then it is
not something that you will experience easily, even
if it is abundantly available. Therefore, you must not
only be ready and willing to experience love, but you
have to be able to take love in when offered. If your
self-esteem is extremely low and you don't believe that
you deserve to have love, then you won't.
The
choice is yours. What is love? See the 1st paragraph
above.
